Anniversary lunch at Pierre Victoire | Oxford

by - December 16, 2015

Did you read about our indulgent morning at The McDonald Randolph Spa Hotel?

Feeling marshmallow like, soft, fuzzy and wooed by the relaxation of the spa we headed through the streets of Oxford to Pierre Victoire a highly recommended French Bistrot thank you TripAdvisor.

The place was bustling upon arrival which was a pleasant surprise and we were greeted with a welcoming Bonjour. Dave loves the French, the language, the food and I had partly booked this place for him to indulge in this little French bubble in Oxford. The conversation continued with a mix of English and French as we made our way to the table. We were wished 'Bon anniversaire de mariage' or something like that, French wasn't my strong point at school I am ashamed to say. We sat back, ordered and enjoyed our 3 course lunch. And oh my goodness was it good........

Starters: Pâté de Volaille & Moules Marinières à la Crème {chicken liver parfait with garlic toast | Shetland mussels steamed in white wine with parsley, cream, garlic and shallots}
Mains: Pumpkin and Chestnut Risotto, it was autumn on a plate and not in the slightest heavy. I can't remember what Dave had but it looked great and tasted so good!
Dessert: Mousse au Chocolat & I think Dave had a crumble

The food was packed with flavouring it was genuinely a sensory delight. the sauces perfectly seasoned. Each mouthful was tender, delicate and savoured. This has to be one of the best meals, 3 meals, I have eaten and for £15.90 it's quite unbelievable how something so good could be so reasonably priced. If you are in Oxford you must visit Pierre Victoire, read the TripAdvisor reviews, this food has to be experienced.

After dinner we strolled through the city streets taking it all in. First year wedding anniversary...Done!
